George & Ronnie

Rooted in Culture

George and Ronnie are the kind of people that make you feel seen, accepted and immediately comfortable. They exude this beautiful and loving light and energy that can never be forgotten. I feel insanely blessed to have been chosen to capture their wedding day and it is a day I wish I could photograph again and again.

One particular thing was very important for them to include on their wedding day- their culture and family. They incorporated their Puerto Rican, Mexican and Greek backgrounds in such thoughtful and fun ways. For their ceremony, everyone coming in grabbed a little flag of the country they’re descended from and had their grandmas be their flower girls- Flower Grandmas!

Their officiant incorporated Spanish, Greek and English language in the ceremony. Stefana crowns were presented to them in the Greek Orthodox tradition and for their first dance they danced bachata.

George and Ronnie really made their whole day their own exactly how they wanted it. We even had some extra time to spare for photos after going from the Milwaukee Art Museum and LGBTQ Crosswalk so we decided to make a quick stop, just for the heck of it, at the selfie museum at the 3rd St Market Hall.

You could feel the love, adoration and joy from every single person in the reception hall when George and Ronnie made their grand entrance. I swear, this kind of electrified energy could have gotten just about anyone up on their feet and joining in.
